About the ATS–P (Video)

The ATS–P (video) provides candidates with the opportunity to demonstrate their teaching skills in an actual classroom setting. The assessment requires the submission of a 20- to 30-minute video-recorded sample of a candidate's teaching performance in a classroom of students who are part of the candidate's regular teaching assignment in a public or nonpublic PreK, elementary, middle, or secondary school. Candidates must follow the procedures described in the ATS–P Procedures Manual, which is sent to them after registration, to record their teaching performance.

Before registering, candidates can review the ATS–P objectives, directions for recording and submitting the video recording, and a sample completed Context of Instruction Form provided in the ATS–P (Video) Information Guide available on the NYSTCE Web site.

Registration. Registration is by Internet or U.S. mail. Refer to the "Registration and Submission Schedule" for registration deadlines.
