Withdrawal/Refund Policy

If after registering for a test you wish to withdraw your registration, you may do so according to the following procedure:

If you have not yet scheduled your test: Submit a withdrawal request through your account.

If you have already scheduled your test:

  1. First, cancel your test appointment at least 24 hours before your scheduled testing time. To cancel your appointment, log in to your account, click "Reschedule," and follow the instructions provided.
  2. After cancelling your test appointment, submit a withdrawal request through your account.

If your original registration was for all parts of an assessment, withdrawal of the registration will apply to all tests. You may not withdraw from or receive a refund for individual tests if your original registration was for all parts of the assessment.

If you withdraw your registration before your Authorization to Test expires and before you have scheduled your test appointment or if you cancel your test appointment at least 24 hours before your scheduled testing time and then withdraw your registration, you will receive a refund:

  • $95 for withdrawing from a CST or a safety net CST
  • $84 for withdrawing from the ALST or the ATS–W
  • $65 for withdrawing from the EAS
  • $54 for withdrawing from the ATAS or a BEA
  • $72 for withdrawing from the CQST
  • Multi-Subject CSTs:
    • $46 for withdrawing from Part One
    • $46 for withdrawing from Part Two
    • $36 for withdrawing from Part Three
    • $132 for withdrawing from Parts One, Two, and Three
  • School Building Leadership assessment:
    • $152 for withdrawing from one part
    • $365 for withdrawing from both parts
  • School District Leader and School District Building Leader assessments:
    • $126 for withdrawing from one part
    • $301 for withdrawing from both parts

Your refund will be issued by Evaluation Systems within four weeks of your request.

If you are absent from the test, you will not receive a refund or credit of any kind. (See the absentee policy in "Reporting to the Test Site.")

Payment Methods

The fees for Internet registration and changes to registration made on the Internet must be paid using a credit card (VISA or MasterCard only) or a debit or check card that carries the VISA or MasterCard logo and that can be used without the entry of a personal identification number (PIN). Bank cards without a VISA or MasterCard logo cannot be accepted. The merchant name that will appear on your credit card statement is "Eval Systems Test Fee."

The fees for services requested by U.S. mail ("Additional Service Fees" in the tables above) must be paid by personal check, cashier's check, or money order. Fees for additional copies of your test results must be paid by cashier's check or money order; personal checks are not accepted. Checks and money orders must be made payable to Evaluation Systems in U.S. dollars. Please write the last five digits of your social security number on your payment. Do not send cash.

Payment Policies

If you register to take the same test on multiple test dates and pass the test on the first test date, you will not be issued a refund for your additional registrations on the basis of your passing performance.

If you have any outstanding balance owed by you to Evaluation Systems after a test administration for which you were registered, all of your scores for that test date may be permanently voided and therefore not reported to you, to the NYSED, or to any institutions.
