Computer-based testing (CBT) is available Monday through Saturday (excluding holidays) at Pearson Professional Centers. Refer to "Test Sites" for information about available test centers and "Test Fees and Payment Policies" for computer-based testing fees.
Registration. Registration for computer-based testing is available only on the Internet by selecting "Register Now" on the NYSTCE Web site. The following guidelines apply to computer-based testing registration:
- You should plan to register as early as possible before your desired test date. Test appointments are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis and seating is limited.
- You must submit a separate registration for each computer-based test you wish to take.
- You may not take the same computer-based test more than once in any 30-day period.
Test administration. In computer-based testing, examinees complete the tests by selecting answers on-screen to multiple-choice questions and typing responses to constructed-response assignments. See "Reporting to the Test Site," "What to Bring to the Test Site," and "Test Site Rules" for details about the day of the test, including information about identification and security policies.
Score reporting. Score reports will be available on the NYSTCE Web site within 30 days of the test date. When you register, you may also sign up to receive your scores by e-mail when they are released. See "Release of Your Test Scores" for additional information on score reporting.
For ATAS only, unofficial test results, including pass/fail status, will be provided at the test center at the conclusion of the test.
