TEST SELECTION
The NYSTCE are conducted during morning and afternoon test sessions and are four hours in length. The morning session has a reporting time of 7:45 a.m. and ends at approximately 12:30 p.m. The afternoon session has a reporting time of 1:00 p.m. and ends at approximately 5:45 p.m.
Examinees will be assigned to one or two sessions according to the number and type of tests for which they registered. As certain tests are only offered during certain sessions, session requests cannot be honored.
The tables below list all NYSTCE tests and provide the following information:
- The test session(s) during which each test is offered
- The test dates on which each test is offered
- Important notes describing registration restrictions and special testing requirements

| If you are seeking a bilingual education extension for a language not listed here, call Evaluation Systems at least five weeks before the regular registration deadline to request an eligibility form. You must submit it for review, along with your registration form and payment, by four weeks before the regular registration deadline. Tests may be taken at administrations in October, February, June, and July only. Score reports for unlisted BEAs may be sent up to two weeks after the score report dates indicated in "Test Dates." | ||

Scientific Calculators
Examinees taking the Chemistry (007) and Physics (009) CSTs will be provided with one of the following models of scientific calculators at the test administration. The models distributed are subject to change; directions for use will not be provided at the test site. You may not use your own calculator or calculator manual for these tests.

Approved Graphing Calculators
Examinees taking the Mathematics (004) CST must bring their own graphing calculator but may not bring a calculator manual. Graphing calculators will not be provided at the administration. Only the brands and models listed below may be used. Approved calculator brands and models are subject to change; if there is a change, examinees will be notified. Test administration staff will clear the memory of your calculator both before and after testing. Therefore, be sure to back up the memory on your calculator, including applications, to an external device before arriving at the test site.
